Legal Issues
I have been running the Sunny Funny Garden for a year now.
It is on land that is owned by someone else and they were kind enough to let us use it.
I run a 1 hour session (no charge) for local children each Thursday.
We plant seeds, do some painting, think about weeding ...
This week the owner approached me and said that someone had mentioned to him that he would be legally liable for any accidents that happened in the Garden.
He has asked me to close the Garden until we can find out the legal and insurance implications.
I certainly can't afford to pay for insurance.
Are there any guidelines in the community garden sector regarding insurance and liability.
If this issue is arising for me ... it will have to affect other community gardens.
Appreciate any advice and information you can give me.
