First Irish Network Meeting for Community Gardens

19th October 2008 Cultivate Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

This meeting was coordinated by the following people and groups to facilitate networking amongst groups and to discuss possible follow ups to the day.

Suzie Cahn of Carraig Dulra and Wicklow Community Gardening Group, A Challenge Europe group: young Climate Change advocates Soul Food Group, The Organic Centre, Carraig Dulra, and with the help of Samantha Richardson who has been volunteering her time to help get the word out about the day and respond to email queries.

Suzie will facilitate the first part of the meeting.

Darragh Flynn a Climate Change Advocate along with his group is organising lunch and the gathering of a database of those interested, as well as further development of this website to aid communication.

A Team from the Organic Centre will facilitate the afternoon developing aims for a possible national network, covering topics such as information swapping, training needs, grass roots supports, lobbying Government, celebrations, regional groups, frequency of meetings etc.
